Fresh Paint & A Desert Sunset

Not everything in the desert is ugly browns and dry dust.
This was our sunset last evening.

 Our backyard sunset.
The bottom photo should be first...

My front door needed a fresh coat of paint.
I don't have a before because I wanted to get painting
right away, (too impatient).  It was a dark drab green.

The welcome adds warmth, not that we need anymore of that
in the southwest.  :)

Then I gave my Cracker Barrel rocker and fresh coat of
the same color. It was a light stain and the varnish had
completely weathered away.

We both have been a little slow in getting things done around
our place since our big move almost 4 years ago.  Both of us are having surgery in the next several
weeks.  Hubby needs hip replacement and my knee
is getting the same.  By August we will be good as new.

Hope all of you are having a wonderful spring.
Thanks for stopping by QBC!

  1. What beautiful pictures! I love the desert-I find lots of beauty there. Your rocker and front door are very welcoming!
I wish you and your hubby great success on your surgeries. I have had a knee done, and the Pnys. therapy is actually one of the best things about it. It has been great, no pain at all a few months out. Now it's been more than a year and I'm sooo glad I did it. Looking forward a few years (I hope) to my second one.
    Happy Spring!!
