Decoupage...and Get R Done Friday

Have you ever decoupaged anything? I finished this dress form that was very plain and needed a vintage look. A sheet music waltz book that had 176 pages and was falling apart was used. Not the whole book was used, maybe 1/3. Along with some French book pages that were given to me. She turned out quite well! I call her Annie, the waltzing lady. She's covered in sheet music, and quite royally I might add. For all the curves I snipped and snipped so the clipped sheets would lay into the curves. I've seen these done with vintage postcards, vintage patterns and so on.It's quite easy to do, just tedious and very sticky. I added the black moth to her bustle and on the front some of the titling from the Waltz Album. One last touch will be painting the top and base a matte black. Sheet music can be reused for so many things. Actually the dress form looks better in person. And I love the vintage brown coloring! Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hey Linda!

You did a great job! I just love it! You made it look like it would be so easy to do but I'm sure it was much harder than it looks!

You should show it on ClassyChassy's Get R Done Friday's! Her Mr. Linky is up and running.

  8. This turned out just gorgeous! I would love to get my hands on a dress form at a reasonable cost, but I doubt I will find one in my price range. I liked how you centered the title page of the music sheet on her bodice. Annie looks set to dance!
