Exploring Glendale Ave.

My husband had an appointment at the dentist office today. We drove to the old part of Glendale on Glendale Ave.  We passed some interesting places and saw interesting people. I spotted an antique shop and on the way back we stopped. Empire Antiques carries mainly vintage European furniture, chandeliers, china, and all sorts of collectibles. Their furniture is very ornate with the wood  rich in color and grain. The owner is from Holland and she imports lots of beautiful French pieces! One of my images shows wooden shoes lined up for my camera. She has many pieces from old churches now torn down. She had several old wooden clocks I captured on camera. With permission granted I snapped a few photos. That was the only thing I carried away; digital images of Eurpeon charm from along ago.

  1. Hi Linda,

We are almost neighbors. I live in Surprise and spend quite a lot of time in old town Glendale.

So many little shops have closed down there, so sad.

    Have a great weekend.

    hugs,
    Barb

Hi, I am Donna (Brynwood Needleworks) daughter in law Jessica! I was on her site and she mentioned yours was great so I had to come and explore. I love antiques and loved seeing what you saw! Made me want to jump in the car right now and go find a new treasure! Thanks for a very enjoyable read! I'll be back again!
    Sincerely,
    Jessica

  3. I miss antique hunting in Arizona. I had a booth in several little shops in Flagstaff for years. YOu could always find the neatest western american pieces. One of my best finds ever, was a square mile desk from a reservation. So primitive, shabby and lovely. Sea Witch
