The word 'vignette' is from the root 'vine'. Wikipedia states it was orginally referred to a decorative border in a book. Later the word is also used for a photographic portrait which is clear in the center, and fades off at the edges, and also short descriptive literature focusing on a particular moment or person. These images are from my 'room' here at home. When I think of a vignette, to me it could be an oval shaped image with a person or people or grouping of vintage things in a form. Or as in this picture a few favorite things grouped in a 'moment'. The sewing machine is from my mother who made most of our clothing growing up (on a different machine than this one).
Pretty shot. I find since I started blogging that the camera is always close at hand. Photography is a bit addicting, just as blogland is.You have done such a nice job with yours.
