Inspiration~

Some days I like to take a little time and read some inspirational quotes from different sites on the web. Below my header is a mosaic of Eleanor Roosevelt and one of her many quotes.  And most or all of her quotes are inspirational and some are on the humorous side. Like this one:  "Women are like teabags; you never know how strong they are until they're put in hot water". Not sure why it struck my funny bone, it just did. Then there is this one: "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent".
Another of Ms. Roosevelt's quotes: "Do one thing everyday that scares you".
And this one: "It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness". One of my favorite of hers is:  "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". I could go on and on. Two or three times a week I'll put up a quote from a famous author. I do have to keep my source a secret for a little bit. But if  you really want to find it just Google famous quotes, or you can Bing it!

 My all time favorite quotes have to be verses in the Bible. Did  you know that this book is the most read book in the world? Did you know that it has been rated the No. 1 purchased book ever? Well it is.  The above image was sent by my sister Annette, I posted about it some time ago. Isn't it beautiful? The God I know is a gentleman, he never imposes Himself on others. He is the inspiration behind the greatest book ever written. I don't get religious here but I do like to share good things.

  3. I did not know it was she who said: "The future belongs to..." I'm so glad you informed me. I also love that quote. I should have known a woman came up with it!

  7. Hi Linda. I'm also a collector of quotes. Just whatever catches my fancy I write down in a little book. I love her quotes. I never realized how pretty she was as a young woman. And was that her wedding dress (sleeveless would have been very unusual in her day). How fashion forward of her. But I really love that top center photo of her laughing, what a great photo.

    Eleanor was an amazing woman! PBS did a special on her a couple of years ago - I truly enjoyed learning more about this remarkable woman.

  12. Thank you for bringing Eleanor to mind - she is such an inspiration. My favorite quote is: "Evil flourishes when good men do nothing" by Edmund Burke; I am reminded to stand up and act.
