For months, I've wanted to make a vintage paper book wreath.
I'm not into destroying a good book, but you can get books at Dollar Tree.
If I wrote a book and it ended up at the Dollar Tree, I'd cut it up too.
There are a few tutorials out there, this one:
Jenna de Angeles is the best. Her instructions are easy to follow. And I love a good instructional
video.
For the center I used my fav chocolate grosgrain ribbon and a resin cameo in a brass setting.
You can click on each photo to get a closer view.
It was fairly easy to make just a little time consuming.
Hope you are having a great week!
Absolutely lovely!! Thank you again for the wonderful french goodies I received! I am over the moon!!

So pretty...I have not visited you for a while...so glad I did not miss your lovely creation..I adore the brown ribbon. Happy new week to you. xo
ReplyDeleteVery cute! (I noticed your clock widget slowed the page load down quite a bit...maybe it's just my laptop?)
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeus, so beautifull made,I love the cones are small and not too wide on top---and the browm tones in the ribbon and cameo, makes it a million.

Funny crack about the book ending up at dollar tree LOL
That is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautiful!!! I know...paper, old books, such a shame to see them tossed when they can be made into something so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHere's a fun book I found a couple of months ago with ideas for old books:
"Playing with Books - The Art of Upcycling, Deconstructing, and Reimagining The Book" by Jason Thompson.
Lots of fun projects and examples of amazing book art!
