I don't like sad news but today was one of those days.
We had to put to rest our little Shih-Tzu boy dog.
He has had numerous seizurres the last few years.
The photo above was taken a few years ago, before the
seizures started. He almost looks like a little lamb. His fur was a little wavy and
soft as a cloud, he was vannila and caramel. The seizures
were building and getting worse as time went by. Yes, we tried meds.
This was one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make.
He is asleep now. He was the cutest little dog.
He cuddled on his papa's lap every night.
His big brown eyes spoke volumnes.
We'll always remember you little boy dog.
So sorry to hear about little boy dog. They become such a big part of our lives in the years we have them. We had to make this same decision several years ago with our sweet Caleb- it is so hard but I know it was the best thing for him to not suffer anymore.

I am sorry for your loss but I know it was the best thing. When they get so ill it is too hard. I know it hurts but you have good memories.
ReplyDelete(through the tears ) I have two shih-tzus. They are our "little ones". They are only 4 and 3 - but golly, we feel like they are just our 3rd and 4th born! Love them to pieces.
ReplyDeleteFeeling your pain . . . UGH! Times like this are so hard . . . Big giant hugs from California.

ReplyDeleteI'm very sad for you ... It's always sad to say good bye to a sweet little friend like your little dog.
ReplyDeleteI know he will be so missed.
Hugz ..Betty
Such a hard decision, but kinder than the suffering. Hold on too all he happy memories...... x
ReplyDeleteOh that is so sad, bringing tears to my eyes. I know, as most readers I guess what it is to let go of an animal. Went trough it a few times and I feel your pain. But think you gave him a good life and remember the happy memories. There is a website too, http://www.rainbowbridge.com/. I wish you strength to overcome this difficult time. Big hug.
ReplyDeleteA month ago, I also had to make this decision for my ShihTzu/Bichon, Anna. Hopefully they will meet in doggie heaven. I miss her soft fur, nails clicking on the floor, door greetings, vacuuming of the kitchen floor when I dropped something, even her stinky breath...but her friendship and memories remain close to my heart.

ReplyDeleteAw I am so sorry to hear that. We had to make that decision with our first dog, she was 14 and couldn't keep anything down. Our black dog has been having seizures since she was 5 and is on phenobarbitol for them. She's 11...Patches is 9 and so they are getting up there. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.
ReplyDeleteHugs for you, so sorry.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteA big hug for you all.
So sorry for the loss of your beautiful (or should I say handsome) boy! I'll be thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. We had to say goodbye to our Hannah girl, it'll be a year on the 22nd of this month. I know how you are feeling.
ReplyDeleteYou will be reunited one day and until then he is running free at Rainbow Bridge making new friends.
I will say a prayer to St. Francis for your fella.
Sending you a big HUG
Marsha

Oh Linda,,,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your broken heart. I do understand as I have been through it.

We had to do the same thing with our sweet little Rosie. She had so many seizures and wasn't coming out of one so we had to make the decision to put her to sleep. SO HARD. It's been 5 years now and we still remember her and enjoy the good memories. My heart is with you. Plant a bush or a tree to remember your sweetie by.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear your sad news.
ReplyDeleteI too have an elderly Shitzu, he's the same colouring as your boy. His Chinese name apparently means mischief and he certainly is at times! Mostly though he is a very cute loving little chap. I have only had him 2yrs, he is 15 1/2yrs old! I call him Bobby, he sleeps on his own quilt on my bed at night.
Kind regards,
Sandie xx
I'm so sorry for your loss, making that decision is very hard to do, I understand. I'm sure you did the right thing. Hoping you have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your sweet boy...

I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. Plant a little garden in his memory. Add some rosemary for remembrance. You will find peace there.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. What an incredibly difficult decision to make.
ReplyDeleteAs a kindred spirit who loves her fur baby dearly I can only imagine the deep pain of your loss. May your precious memories be of comort to you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear this. I know how hard the decision is. He is at rest now and you two will be reunited someday at the Rainbow Bridge. My Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May your memories ease the pain you feel.
ReplyDeleteJust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet little doggy. We had to do the same with our Yorkie years ago and it is such a difficult decision. But rest assured your little one is romping and playing carefree in puppy heaven.

ReplyDeleteDear Linda:
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry for your loss. "Dog's lives are too short...their only fault, really." My thoughts are with you. I know your pain all too well, my friend. It's just not right that they can't live as long as their owners.
Sending hugs to you and your husband.
xoxo
