Cry of the Loon

In Wisconsin we have many lakes and with lakes comes the loon. I love their call. It is a lonely call but it instantly calms and relax's me when I hear it. They are a beautiful bird. We use to go fishing in the summer back home and saw lots of loon toward evening. Just as the sun is beginning to set they would start their call. Another beautiful call is that of the Whipoorwill. You can click the button in my sidebar to hear both the loon and whipoorwill. My sister, Annette, has a Whipoorwill that comes each evening and perch's on her deck rail and calls. Hence, the name it's been given is exactly how it sounds. It's rhythm and tone is like nothing else I have heard.
TGIF...have a wonderful weekend and God Bless.

  3. You know we just came back from a vacation in Maine last week and there were a couple of loons on our pond. First time I had heard one. It's such a beautiful sound!
